Service Introduction
The Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service must be requested for children aged 5 to 11 years traveling without an adult (a person aged 18 or over with capacity for civil conduct). Unaccompanied minors who are healthy and aged 12 to 17 years, or aged 16 to 17 years and traveling alone with a vision or hearing impairment or an illness, may apply for the Unaccompanied Minor Service voluntarily. We offer trip supervision for children traveling independently.
Air China Junior UM journey tracking. The status of the unaccompanied minor’s journey can be tracked from ticket purchase to the completion of the journey. giving both parent and child a memento of the journey.
Service objects
Unaccompanied minors service is a child who is between 5 to 12 years old travels without an adult (18 years of age and civil capacity) . He/She must apply UM.
Air China can accommodate up to five unaccompanied minors aged 5 to 7 on flights. There is no limit on the number of unaccompanied minors aged 8 (including on their birthday) to 12 on flights.
The app only supports Unaccompanied Minor Service applications for children aged 5-18 years traveling one-way direct flights. If the passenger holds a round-trip ticket and needs to apply for the Unaccompanied Minor Service for the whole journey, the Unaccompanied Minor Service for the round trip must be applied for separately.
For applications for the Unaccompanied Minor Service by passengers on multi-destination itineraries, please visit an authorized Air China sales office.
Children under the age of 5, deaf-mute/binocular blind children under the age of 16 will not allow to be taken alone.
Charge Details
Domestic routes: Unaccompanied minors aged 5 to 11 years are not required to pay a service fee. Passengers aged 12 to 17 years are required to pay a service fee of CNY 200 per flight segment.
International and regional routes：Service fee of CNY 260 per flight segment
Air China Junior
Unaccompanied minors aged 5 to 11 years for domestic flight,With permission, up to two photos of the unaccompanied minor on the plane will be sent to the parents or guardians via the Air China app once the plane has landed. Each flight can accept no more than three unaccompanied minors using the Junior Program service.
